Welcome to MAHA District 8

The Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) is administered in geographical districts. MAHA District 8 includes most of the Upper Peninsula (U.P.) of Michigan, excluding only the two easternmost U.P. counties of Mackinac and Chippewa, which are in District 7. Please see the Our Location page for maps and further discussion of our districts, counties, and association locations.

CUP League Scheduling Meeting

In-person scheduling meeting due to occur on October 25 is cancelled.  

Citizen's Forum is not available due to COVID, and it is not clear that the group size would be legal indoors anyhow.  Alternative arrangements are being made via email with the schedulers.

TENTATIVE regional and district tournament schedules

Ahead of the meeting minutes, I am being asked about District and Regional Tournament sites and dates.  These were TENTATIVELY agreed upon in the Spring Zoom meeting.  We did not select dates for the B/BB Districts.  This will all be finalized at the Fall District Zoom meeting on October 24.

Regionals: Escanaba and Iron River, January 8-10.

A/AA Districts:  Calumet, January 29-31

B/BB Districts, all dates TBA:

  • 10U Marquette
  • 12U Manistique
  • 14U Iron Range
  • 18U Manistique

Again, these will all be finalized and dates will be selected on October 24.

Minutes from Spring 2020 meeting

I just realized that I never drafted or posted the minutes from the Spring 2020 meeting during COVID hell last April.  I will try to get them done and posted shortly.

District 8 meeting will be by Zoom
